Down ~30 pounds
I use the ~ because I weigh myself on a daily basis and my weight fluctuates by a pound or two either way. I weigh less on the days I take a dump before I weigh myself
When the camera really shows the difference, I’ll post before and after pictures. Oh hell, maybe I’ll do one now.
Here is me at my wedding (on the left), when I weighed the most, and me at opening day of the Lions football season (right) when I was down about 27 pounds. Roger looks shorter than me in the wedding shot because we were standing on the stairs.

I always use a tape measure because it’s less emotionally charged than a scale. One inch=six pounds.
Wow! What a difference in the two picturse! You look awesome! It is great that you have come across the perfect mix of meds and food regime that is working so well. Keep up the good work!
P.S. I kind of think you are taller that Roger in the wedding pic. LOL!
@ascultafili - I use a tape measure, too. Sometimes weight loss doesn’t show up on a scale. Many years ago I joined Jenny Craig, followed their program precisely and in 4 weeks hadn’t lost an ounce. The girl there said there was NO WAY I could be following the program. I told her that it was our week for measurements, and she was shocked that my waist and hips were both down 2 inches.
@ItsSuze - Haha, well, fortunately, Roger is taller than me
Not only have the meds and eating regimen been working well, but I no longer have to use before meal insulin. I think the insulin and my wacky thyroid had made it all so difficult and were causing all the weight gain.
My mother lost a lot of weight when she got diabetic. The thyroid is another dimension and I am pretty sure some skinny folks have a hyper thyroid.
Make sure you are not losing bone mass. Strong bones is always a good sign you are healthy. Walking and exercise helps to maintain bone mass.
The lady who I worked for is best described as perky. She had a lot of heft on her too but I wouldn’t call her inactive. However her poor husband was distracted by her mouth. Yes she is a lawyer and sometimes they say too much.
@PPhilip - My diabetes was caught right in the beginning – so there was no weight loss (that usually happens after being untreated for several years). Because I had it in my family so strongly, I always insisted my doctors tested me for it at every physical. My problem is hypothyroidism. Now I am on medication that has turned that around
I walk a lot – I understand the need for exercise during weight loss. Also, I don’t want my calf muscles turning to jelly – I’ve seen that happen when women lose a lot of weight – they are no longer carrying around so much, so the muscles don’t have to work as hard and become lax. I like having nicely toned muscles.
And I just KNOW under this keg is a six pack
wow you look great!
It is so fun to get things under control.
You are doing a great job you look nice in both pictures but loosing weight does make one feel better I am once again loosing weight I have to loose what I put back on I have refused to take several of the pills I was on wow I feel so much better hopefully my liver starts feeling better too
That’s amazing! Congratulations! What an inspiration for me!
