  • Little by little…

I’m not doing very well at updating every day like I had intended.  NaBloPoMo is a site where you vow to write in your blog every day for a month.  It started in November…forget which year.  But it stands for National Blog Posting Month.  I am going to try in November to write something every day.

I am still tracking everything on SparkPeople.  Today is my weigh-in day but I usually do it in the nude right before my shower and I forgot this morning so I’ll do it tomorrow.  It’s the only way I know of to get a correct and consistent reading.  Too bad I can’t weigh in nekkid at my doctor’s office.

I have so many changes I need to make but I am concentrating on just a few at a time.  Hopefully, by this time next year, when I am near my goal weight I will have developed great habits that will last me the rest of my life.

  • You know it could be therapeutic to write every day for a month here, but I’m sure I’d get sidetracked by something along the way…

  • Looking forward to reading your posts every single day in November!  LOL!

Good for you for changing just a few things at a time.   We both know that changing everything at once just doesn’t work.

  • @Dippity - The few times I’ve done it have been therapeutic for me.  But some days it’s just really difficult to come up with something to blog about.  I think Tyche has it licked though by posting pictures on her “nothing to blog about” days.

  • @ItsSuze - So far the only thing I’ve changed recently is trying to make sure I shoot insulin before every meal and  logging everything I am eating – it really has a nice unexpected side benefit – If I don’t want to write something down, I don’t eat it.  And sometimes I won’t eat something just because I know I’ll have to write it down.  Long term changes have been making sure I take my meds every day, twice a day, and avoiding really high-sugar meals – like smoothies for breakfast (except for the kind Pam makes) or Belgian Waffles with whipped cream.  I haven’t had either in several years.

  • I usually weigh myself while wearing something lightweight – like cotton pajamas (most of the time).  I try to wear something lightweight when I go to the doctor’s and suspect I’ll get weighed – and of course I always remember to take my shoes off.  We all know they must weigh five pounds

  • @Tyche - LOL I used to take my shoes off at the doctor’s office, but when I’m wearing lace-ups, it’s too much trouble so I don’t bother at all now.
